Auto 1 Type Specimen Poster
Auto 1 is a sans-serif typeface designed by the firm Underware in 2014. It comes with 16 fonts in 4 different weights and includes small caps with each different weight.
The requirements for the Auto 1 type specimen poster were to emphasize the visual aspects of Auto 1 (name, date, designer) using compositional principles, concepts, and color, include an informative component, language that creates a context for the promotion of the typeface, and representative glyphs that demonstrate the design characteristics of the family and individual styles
In the design I created I chose to showcase the variations of character weights that can be achieved from this family in a simplistic way and also relate back to the font name auto with a subtle touch of an "automotive" flair in the background. On the more informative side I used the angles of the characters to create the spacing between the different font families.
